About Kigali

Kigali serves as Rwanda’s main urban gateway and administrative center.

The city is divided into three districts: Gasabo, Kicukiro, and Nyarugenge. Its hilly landscape shapes the layout and views, with important government buildings and memorials concentrated in these areas. Kigali International Airport connects the city to regional and international destinations.

Visitors often plan short stays of one to two nights, using Kigali as a starting point before traveling to Rwanda’s safari parks and volcano regions. The best time to visit is during the dry season from June to September.
